Here are a few thoughts about being a guide:

LEAD
Willingness to function cooperatively with all GR members

  • Thorough knowledge of local trails or have access to this knowledge on ride day.
  • Proficient mountain biking skill.
  • Consistent communication with Sweep during ride.
  • Commitment to starting and finishing the scheduled ride, ensuring participants are back safely at starting point.
  • Flexibility re leading of various skill levels.
  • Affinity for building cohesion within ride group on ride day.
  • Ability to assess skill level of participant riders and patience, creativity needed to adjust the ride accordingly
  • Basic first aid.
  • Safety check prior to EACH ride
  • Desire to promote fun, e.g. by taking photos, videos

SWEEP
Willingness to function cooperatively with all GR members

  • Thorough knowledge of local trails or have access to this knowledge on ride day.
  • Proficient mountain biking skill.
  • Consistent communication with Lead.
  • Willingness to always ride behind the last participant in their group, offer encouragement as needed for motivation.
  • Affinity for building cohesion within ride group on ride day.
  • Basic first aid.
  • Commitment to starting and finishing the scheduled ride, ensuring participants are back safely at starting point.
  • Safety check prior to EACH ride.
